At the left is the white Iberis sempervirens, near the Dutch Iris, which is increasing in number:  and see the loving couple of wood pigeons sitting on the rock?

These tulips are around 8 years old  and  the number of flowers is increasing.

Those two pictures are like details of the one below, but taken from different angles.

I have noticed a huge amount of bird song this month.  In fact, it is so loud, you could not fail to be aware of their happiness.

Have you noticed a very abundant array of primroses?  They are so big and happy looking in this warm

bright weather.

                                                  -  Margot.

The allotment is where I grow most of my flowers. I had raised beds made specially for growing daffodils and tulips.  I put a layer of stones at the base for drainage and the soil I used to fill with was a sandy top soil topped off with John Innes manure and my own compost mixture.

In this photo I had tied the leaves down to help me get a nice photo, and the garden ornament was from my father’s garden.                                                               -  Emma

Emma’s gardening was inspired by her father and uncle, Sean and  Seamus McCauley - yes, our Daffodil Supremo himself - and she’s agreed to tell us a bit about how she set about it on her allotment.
